Sometimes I flip up the bass within the Sennheiser app just a bit for quiet listening, and it remembers these settings once I switch to using them with my MacBook – the Sennheiser BT LE app will allow you to control the EQ and settings from your iPhone whereas listening along with your MacBook if it is advisable make adjustments.
Equalizer settings via the Sennheiser app don’t introduce any distortion that I have noticed, and you should use two different interfaces to EQ the sound, depending on which means is simpler for you – a single slider to get a curve, or 3 sliders for bass, mids, treble.
