Simrad GO7 XSE Chartplotter Fishfinder with TotalScan Transom Mount Transducer. A transom-mounted HDI Skimmer transducer delivers fish-finding sonar for amateur anglers and offers a simple way for powerboating enthusiasts to keep an eye on depth. CHIRP technology enables clear detection of fish throughout the water column, while DownScan Imaging sonar creates a picture-like view of fish-holding structure beneath your boat. FishReveal technology combines these two specialized views into a single picture of fish and structure.

Love the touch screen and less than 30 minutes of use later, it wouldn’t come on UPDATE: Highly recommend!! Put this in our 24′ Reinell. Easy to install. Won’t go back to the button style. The color screen is a big step up from the old one we had.
I reviewed this thing after we came back from a quick trip to town, 10 minutes each way. Worked great, then the next day came along and when you push the power button absolutely nothing happens. I carefully read reviews prior to purchase and didn’t come across any that said they have power issues. Yes, there is the power to the end of the cord where it plugs into the machine, and no, it will not do a hard reset. Since we bought this in Feb in anticipation of our boat being finished, we didn’t install until June. I may be SOL, but, we will see if Simrad stands behind their product.
I feel like it is important to share that I called Simrad and within 3 minutes the customer rep. told me exactly how to package the unit to return for a replacement. They were very accommodating and helpful, so I upgraded from one star. When the new one comes in we will use it for a few weeks and hopefully be able to bring it back to 5 stars.
The customer service for this was awesome! We received a brand new replacement unit and it is working great. Clear picture and easy to use and is a great tool for fishing and when it is foggy!
Out-of-the-box, Initial Start-up, and Update: So far, so good. After reading some of the other reviews, I became a little apprehensive about my purchase. However, now that it has arrived I’ve been playing with it somewhat…trying to learn the controls and user interface and such. So far, it started right up out of the box. No issues. I connected to the wi-fi in my home with no issues. I ran the update and it took maybe 3-4 minutes. It connected to my phone without issue and everything seems to work great! However, I could see where someone without much experience in wi-fi or advanced electronic interfaces could become very frustrated. But, if you know your way around a cell phone, iPad, or computer, you should have no worries. The maps that are preloaded are nice and clear. The touch screen is very responsive. Processing a detailed map, however, can be a little slow. I’m still playing with it and haven’t yet rigged it to the boat and taken it out. I’ll update as I go along. So far, it’s a lot of fun and relatively intuitive.
