The press speculated that it would make its Canadian debut in mid-to-late 2016 after Amazon posted job listings for developers for Alexa and co-hosted a hackathon in Toronto. The Echo became available in the United Kingdom on 28 September 2016. Additionally, the Alexa voice service is available to be added to other devices, and Amazon encourages other companies’ devices and services to connect to it.
Connect your ECO Plugs device to Amazon Alexa
Step 1: Open the ECO Plugs app, click on “Setting”
(If you have multi-devices, please Slide the desired device icon to the lower left until the device name color changes to yellow, then tap “Setting”)
Step 2: Tap “Connect to Amazon Alexa”
Step 3: Enter your Alexa Account
(This is the email address connected to your Alexa account). Then tap “YES”
Step 4: Open the Amazon Alexa app, Go to the Menu button on the top left corner and click on “Smart Home”
Step 5: Tap “Smart Home Skills”, then click on “ ENABLE SKILLS”
Step 6: Search for “ECO Plugs”
Step 7: Click on “ENABLE”
Step 8: Enter your Amazon Alexa account
(This is the email address connected to your Alexa account), then click on “Authorize”
Click on “yes” and allow access.
Step 9: Link Successful, go back to the Amazon Alexa app
Step 10: Tap “DISCOVER DEVICES”
Step 11: If the device is not discovered in Step 10, on Amazon Alexa app
Please go to the menu on the top left corner and click on “Smart Home”, then click on “Devices”, then “DISCOVER”
Step 12: Completed
You can set Smart Home Devices with Alexa. When you connect devices and services to Alexa, anyone speaking to Alexa can operate those products. Some smart home devices can also be controlled by anyone using the Alexa app on your mobile device.
